| Chinmaya Mission Niagara (CMN) has been serving society since the late 1980s. Weekly classes were held from home to home until 1999 when Swami Tejomayananda (Pujya Guruji) officially created another chapter to Chinmaya Mission Worldwide.
Weekly classes for Bala Vihar, Yuva Kendra and Adults continued in schools for the next few years. However, in 2006 CMN’s committee felt the time had come to have their own home. With the blessings and a puja performed by Pujya Swami Shantananda, CMN moved into its own facility in July of 2007. Pujya Guruji named the center Chinmaya Dhara or the Flow of Knowledge.
Just as there was demand for a centre in Niagara, so too was there demand for a teacher. And the Guru Parampara has supplied this community with both. Born and raised in Niagara, Acharya Vivek turned away from the ordinary pursuits of life and took up the extraordinary path within. Having studied Vedanta at Sandeepany Sadhanalaya in Mumbai, India for over two years under the guidance of Puyja Guruji, Vivekji has returned to Niagara to share this ancient wisdom with one and all.
Today, all activities are taking place at Chinmaya Dhara and are growing both in quality and quantity! From Srimad Bhagavad Gita discourses to Sanskrit classes, from Mahashivaratri Pujas to Deepavali celebrations, from Bala Vihar camps to Adult symposiums, the sevaks of CMN are serving the community in all earnestness. Over the past two years many of the Chinmaya Mission Acharyas have graced the Vyasa Peetham at Dhara and Pujya Guruji did the same at the Inauguration this summer.
May Pujya Gurudev’s Love forever guide the vision of Chimaya Mission Niagara and all centers around the globe.

Having
experienced much of what the world has to offer, from
studying at the Ivey School of Business to travelling
to over forty five countries, Vivek still sought more.
Simply tired of the inconsistent peace attached to extrovert
pursuits, he decided enough was enough and turned his
journey within.
In
2005, Vivek was accepted to the intensive two year Vedanta
Course at Chinmaya Mission’s Sandeepany Sadhanalaya
in Mumbai, India. Under the guidance of Pujya Guruji Swami
Tejomayananda, he studied the Upanishads, Srimad Bhagavad
Gita, Shri Ramacharitramanas, Sanskrit, Vedic Chanting
and a great deal more.
Joining
the ultra rare company of those having graduated from
a Sandeepany, now Vivek’s only purpose of life is
to make others aware of what is the purpose of life -
to be unconditionally happy.
Through
his innovative and passionate style, Vivek makes the ancient
wisdom of Vedanta (vision of non-duality) relevant, relatable,
and reachable. Intrigued by the fact he is a young adult
born and raised in Canada, all kinds of social groups,
religious organizations, and Chinmaya Mission centers
around North America have invited Vivek to share his insights
into the truths of life.
